The sexy “Desperate Housewives, Eva Longoria, has reveals some secrets of her beauty and style to parade magazine recently. When Parade Magazine asked her, how she maintains her figure and skin. Eva said: “I think it’s a combination of a lot of things. I want to look like Demi Moore when I’m 42. It’s obviously emotional health. And it’s obviously your physical health, but there’s a lot of maintenance involved, and I’m not talking about anti-aging. I’m just talking about general health, getting your checkups and getting your blood tests and making sure you get your mammograms.”
“Your body is a vehicle of your emotions and a vehicle of feelings and a vehicle of whatever you need to get done in life. And you’ve got to take care of that vehicle.”
“For me, as far as skin, I’m a big advocate of facials. And I moisturize. And I read my magazines. I listen to good advise from people who really know, and I try to watch what I eat. But it’s diet. It’s exercise. It’s maintenance. It’s checkups. It’s attitude. It’s a lot of things. And I think you just need to be aware of what’s going to work for you.”
Parade: How do you stay motivated to keep healthy?
Eva: “I have a degree in kinesiology (the study of body movement), so for me, a healthy lifestyle has kind of always been part of my routine. And I’m naturally athletic. I’ve been involved in sports since I could walk. So, for me to be sedentary is just unacceptable. Not only is it great for your physical body, but it gives me more energy during the day if I’ve worked out. I feel better. I look better.”
“Emotionally, I have this–or, in my mind–I have this amazing high from the adrenaline. It’s just all natural and great for me to work out; it agrees with me. I’m not saying I wake up every day and go, ‘Yea, let’s go work out.’ I dread it, and I hate it. And I’m absolutely normal, like everybody else, but it’s part of my lifestyle, so it’s kind of just natural.”
“I’m pretty ADD when it comes to working out, so my trainer constantly changes things up–it’s mostly weight training–but whether it’s circuit training or weight training or kickboxing or core strengthening or whatever he decides that day will be kind of a surprise to me. He knows he’s got to keep me interested. I’m easily like, ‘Ooh, what’s that? A bird is outside.’”
On her secret indulgences: “Mexican food, of course. I’m a terrific Mexican cook, and I just love Mexican food. And I love cooking Mexican food. That’s pretty much my weakness…and barbecue beef…and Texas beef…and brisket. Any red meat I can get my hands on. I love it.”
